St. George School and Religious Education students who are preparing for their First Communion attended a retreat on April 10, 2016. The retreat reinforced what they have been learning about the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist and the connection of the Sacraments of Initiation. They made blankets to be given to infants who will be baptized at St. George Parish in the future. Please continue to pray for these students and their families.

Seventh graders from St. George School and Religious Education participated in an "afternoon of reflection" on March 19, 2016, that gave them hands-on insight into the Spiritual and Corporal works of Mercy. They prepared 300 lunches that were picked up by the Port Ministries bread truck along with the parish collection of goods for Port Ministries. The 7th graders also made greeting cards to accompany the lunches. One of their other projects was decorating door hangers which were delivered to the residents of St. Coletta's in Tinley Park. We are very proud of these young people and the care and concern that they showed to those in need through these projects.
