On Monday, March 1, Saint George parish representatives shared some information on what Renew My Church is, and how the parish is moving forward. Click here for the video from that evening.

The main goals of Renew My Church are to look at the vitality of parishes through our work in encouraging intentional discipleship; building communities in which all are welcomed and invited into a relationship with Christ and the Church; and inspiring witness, to bring the light of Christ into a darkened world. In order for a parish to be able to provide the tools to fulfill these goals, it must also have the human and financial resources needed.  

Click here for some information provided by the Archdiocese. The first section is a snapshot of the Church in the United States. The next section gives us a sense how we look compared with the rest of the Archdiocese. The final section concerns Saint George directly. In a particular way, I want to highlight that with the establishment of Saint Stephen Church in 1999, and as it gained footing, people chose to worship there. They are not necessarily “lost” to the Church. Rather they continue to worship there. Please look over the information but keep in mind this is only a glimpse of one part of our parish. We are more than numbers and statistics. The work of Our Lord will continue at Saint George for years to come.
