Pope Francis urged all Catholics to go out to be proclaimers of the Good News of Jesus Christ. To do that, we need to get out of our pews and go out to the margins. We are called to meet people where they are and walk with them. How can we best show that Jesus is real and alive in our world today?
Father Jerry Kaywell
Father Jerry Kaywell is a Roman Catholic priest, currently serving as Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, Florida. He is also an award-winning composer, producer, singer/songwriter and recording artist. In 1985 he recorded a Grammy-winning album, Let My People Go, with the gospel group the Winans. He was ordained in 1991 and has released two more albums since then.
Father Jerry’s infectious joy is the result of a faith journey that took him from his native Florida, to studying with the Franciscan Fathers to Hollywood and back. Even in the face of a cancer diagnosis, Father Jerry has held firmly to his prayerful faith.
